Post Youtube Interactive Soap Box

For the past few weeks I have been pulled into the hangout discussions and debates on Youtube involving many perspectives, personalities and problems between many channels and posted videos.

They include the Magic Sandwich Show, Fundamentally Flawed, JD Kain's Hangouts, Nadia Yvette Chambers Hangouts, G Man Hangouts and so on. Similar to crossover stories in many comic books, characters can be found in some or all intertwining and interweaving the storyline with sometimes dramatic or emotional conflict between them. Whether it's JD's Talking Shit Tuesday where everyone gets the chance to let loose, allowed to talk rudely and freely about anyone (quite liberating as it seems) or the intellectually curious side found when the shows like the MSS or Fundamentally Flawed that discuss matters around the world that affect everyone following a moderated flow (when they are able), we get to see that there are many sides to many topics and getting people to agree on things is not an easy task.

As Youtube is one of the largest forums where any and everyone has a chance to say something about whatever they want within some minor restrictions (copyright, hate speeches, etc.), is it any wonder to see so many heads butting, sides chosen and my goodness the trolling. Everyone has a chance to be a voice in some fashion or another. You can create art, provoke thought, educate minds and even piss people off to almost no end.

Now to my point. In these hangouts, I hear pretty much the same thing over and over on each side. I personally find it entertaining and there is a reason people watch and subscribe to these channels however there are some times where my blood boils at what I hear. For example whenever I hear specific people I want to invent a device that allows one punch someone through the internet. So my intent here is to start this topic up for any interested write up their views on what happens on the Hangout soaps. Put your thoughts or ideas on what was right or wrong in a discussion (links to the video and a desired time stamp might be a good Idea)

I'd like to start up with this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5YaQx0Lqik (I'm not going to hotlink the video here for space reasons)
It's long but it will get very heated when Nadia makes the statement to Gman about how his belief system is demonstrably hurting people. Gman then misses the point no matter who tries to explain it to him, it just gets worse and worse and he demonstrates exactly her point over and over again with the help of RanCam repeating a misrepresentation of the topic and in my opinion, an entirely demonstrably accurate claim.

What I find most disturbing about it is that Gman and RanCam used their belief system as a shield against Nadia's statement and also used it to "tell her how it is" and exuded justification in degrading the situation. Gman went and made a video personally talking to his computer going on and on again in the same manner of not getting the point of the situation.

If you decide to watch further (which would seem like a waste of time listening to ranting) you will get to hear Gman and RanCam debase Fiona a fellow Christian, by saying she isn't a true Christian, then Ran going on a name calling spree heavy on Prostitute towards Fiona, but it's ok because "She's just a prostitute for atheism."

After watching the video in it's entirety you might understand why I'm upset personally yet I don't have personal relationships with any of these people. I can't help but care about injustice and the ignorant way flawed belief systems try to run everyone's lives. These people may seem like characters but they aren't. They are real and to the most part are acting every bit as who they truly are on the screen as they would every other day out in the real world. I don't understand why people have these kinds of discussions and let them get to these extremes, yet in the back of my mind it seems so simple and maybe too simple to say that in each of their own minds that they are just trying to help people. Whether it be saving them in the name of Jesus upon death or trying to make the world a better place for the living in humanities sake. Can anyone be wrong in that? Can everyone be wrong doing that? There is the presentation of noble intentions behind them but somewhere along the way, those lines got crossed.

There was an attempt to have a conversation, mildly stir up some content, then a debacle that most people wouldn't give the time of day to bother with, and I wouldn't blame them. So what I ask is how do we approach this? Individually or as a society? It may not be any concern to you personally, but maybe it relates to a friend, a loved one, or just a stranger on the street. Who do you stand up for and how?

Also I would also like some feedback on this wonderful display of HogTieChamp attempting to have a discussion with TrueEmpericism regarding his usage of Specified Sequential Information. All the right moves were played and yet not progress made.

For a golden moment, watch carefully from 1:53:00 onwards. The claim is made that the phrase "The page sequential specified information does not exist" proves that the words sequential specified information occur on the Wiki page "The Central Dogma of Molecular Biology". In fact, Hogtie had the Wiki "Dogma" page open and he typed the phrase in question into the Wiki search bar. The Wiki search result pops up, declaring that the page doesn't exist. Hogtie then goes on to search the "Dogma" page for the phrase and gets the result "0/0 found".

Even after all of this, it is claimed that the phrase "sequential specified information" does appear on the page because it was see in red and thus Hogtie is busted in a live hangout. What the person making this claim is failing to take into account are the words surrounding the phrase, ie the page doesn't exist. Fail doesn't come more epic than this.

What I don't get is why Gman states that TE has to do the search and it won't be valid for HogTie to do it himself. On the next MSS 89 Gman actually used that reason why it couldn't be a valid search. Is it their belief that the non-believer are going to use tricks and maneuvers to refute them?

What is going on with the distrust and why does it seem like such a game? I understand the need for a defense mechanism to protect your ego, but if you never allow yourself to be at fault or faulty ever, especially when proven to be wrong, then that's a problem.
