If god exists, then it is possible to prove his existence; but since we don't know for certain, that is why faith or belief is important in religion, so we can't really prove or disprove if he/she/it/they is exists.

Post Re: Shalom!

Actually, I'll agree with barboft on this one.
"There is a god." is a positive statement that can be proven given evidence.
"There is no god." is a negative statement that cannot be proven. It's not possible to prove a negative.

Though, no one has been able to prove the existence of a god for as long as the concept has been around, largely because of a lack of evidence. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence however. I believe that if (a) god(s) exists, (s)he/they don't/doesn't seem to interact with our Universe in any detectable way. Then, via Occam's razor, there's no particular reason to side with the hypothesis.

At least that's how I see it.

You know, occam's razor is best used when choosing between two solutions. One is complex, the other is simple. If both bring about the same result. It is more logical to use the simpler one; but it does not mean the more complex option is false.

I believe that if (a) god(s) exists, (s)he/they don't/doesn't seem to interact with our Universe in any detectable way.

Same here. Because I don't know if there is a god or there isn't a god, I can't conclude that such a being interacts or does not interact with the universe.

I'm offended by that.

For your information, I do give thanks to god before I eat. I say : Dear Lord, I paid for all this food, so thanks for nothing.

Honestly, I'm furious.

Looks as if I was correct not to waste time with this person in any meaningful fashion.

Yep. He held back on his real trolling til he was well and truly settled in. Then he sucked several of us in on his idiocy. I'm still kind of enjoying the lulz as I go back and follow the threads he had us commenting on. Luckily for me, I don't take myself so seriously that I can't enjoy a good laugh at my own expense.

This must be the answer to every question in the universe, barring 42.

It's certainly the answer to the question, "How can I enjoy my life?" The more seriously I take any given endeavor, the more heartily I laugh at myself when I make mistakes or just do something patently absurd. And I never, ever "barr 42". One of these days I will totally figure out what damn question that is the answer to. If for no other reason than to destroy the universe because, hey, someone's gotta do it, why not me?

You are awesome, my friend. :)

But don't neglect the potential potency of 42. Never never. Incorporate it if you need. ;)
