Post ** STICKY ** How to hold your own debate

Welcome to the Active Debates forum. Here you can hold your own debates with other Leaguers. It's still a little experimental, but thanks to some techno-wizardry by CosmicSpork, we have a system that supports restricted access to threads, allowing only debate participants to post, whilst also allowing everyone else to read. Here's how it works:

  • Once you have agreed to hold a debate with another member, contact a moderator and inform them. You can contact anyone on this list by private message, or if you see them in chat.
  • You need to provide the debate title, the names of the participants and your agreement of who will go first.
  • The moderator will create a thread with your debate title. The first post will be made by the moderator to announce the participants and who will begin. After this post, only debate participants will be able to post.
  • Debaters must post one at a time, within 24 hours of one another. External material must be referenced with sources provided. Editing of each post will be disabled automatically 20 minutes after posting.
  • Once a participant has conceded, the debate will be locked and moved to the Debates Archive.
  • Failure to post in the allotted time will result in you conceding the debate by default.

With all that said and understood, we look forward to seeing your debates. ;)
