not sure if these can be viewed outside the UK, but it's an interesting series nonetheless.

Not this again...

Which isn't to say there isn't some damn good stuff on that site. But don't anyone go drinking up what the programs on it say. It's not the BBC.

@nasher168

Well, you could take 2 approaches.

  1. use some other source, such as wiki or google, to look up information on the given documentary
  2. be sceptical and figure it out for yourself while watching :)

Either way, there are some nice documentaries on that list.

I agree there is some shite on there, but it's fairly easy to weed it out.

To their credit they do say this on their front page:

We always have to keep in mind that Documentary, after all, can tell lies and it can tell lies because it lays claim to a form of veracity which fiction doesn't. Some of the documentaries are made just to discredit some particular person, party, organization, system etc, but most of them here on TDF are non biased, without prejudice and worth watching.

Here's an instructive pair courtesy of Dan Snow. "How the Celts Saved Britain."

they make an interesting point, that Christianity saved the British isles from the so-called "dark ages".

If you're interested in what's going on in Russia at the moment, give Putin's kiss a try.

Warning! It's not pretty to watch
