Started AC-Unity. Not as bad as I had feared, not as good as it could have been. Spoilers below.
1) I hate that Arno was in the Bastille when it was stormed. What I was looking forward to the most was storming the damn building! Apparently, I can't do that now. 2) The fighting system sucks donkey balls. In AC4 (Black Flag), I thought the fighting system had improved quite a lot, but now they're taken steps back almost as far as AC1. I mean holy crap the fighting system sucks. Hint: Make the next fighting system a mix between Shadow of Mordor, AC4 and Witcher 1. Also the skill system! 3) Related to that: It used to be you pressed Q and a weapons wheel would come up for you to select your weapons. If you fancied it, you could fight only using your hidden blades. Indeed in AC2, those were more often than not the best choice no matter what. 4) A few more fast-travel points wouldn't have been amiss here. For far away places, I can fast-travel to the closest one and then still run there for a minute straight. 5) Some scenes you can't skip, especially those pesky sync-camera-pans. 6) Why the flying fuck does Eagle Vision, easily your most important tool, suddenly have a cool-down time? What drunken idiot came up with that idea? 7) I hate how difficult it is to aim at your target for assassination. This guy stood next to me for 30sec and I could not get a lock on him.
Everything else so far is great. I mean the Nostradamus riddles are so difficult I often have to look them up on the net. Not because I don't know the location, but because the exact spot on the location is "somewhere behind a vase" and fucked if I know which one of the 10.000 vases they mean. I love the Marquis de Sade, at least so far. I love the wealth of tiny side quests and the simply huge environment. I love the murder mystery stories, though I hate that I can't access the journal at any given time simply because the notes are hidden somewhere in the menu and I can't seem to find them. I love the tiny tasks that randomly pop up like saving citizens and catching thieves. (Though some tasks require skill upgrades like "Throwing money" to beggars. Seriously, throwing money is a fucking skill now?) I love that big missions (main missions) offer different paths of solving the task and even offer "unique kills". Finishing off that one guy in Notre Dame was soooo satisfying!
I'm still unsure how I feel about the time rips and I can't say anything about multiplayer because a bug keeps crashing my game when I try, but I love the idea of working together with friends instead of working against each other like in the previous ones. If they had multiplayer missions like that in Splinter Cell, I wouldn't do anything else the whole day!

Also remember in the earlier AC games, you could gently push people out of the way when you were trying to blend in. They took it out in AC4 and apparently it's still gone.
Ubisoft keeps dumbing down this game to pump it out faster...

Ubisoft keeps dumbing down this game to pump it out faster... Yes. All you can do now is run through the crowd and he automatically pushes the people away. It doesn't work as well because guards can still see you when you do that. I think it's a bad development as well. Also, I hate the way you fire guns and pistols. I had a rifle once but it's so much more worse than a sword, I gave up on it immediately. Also, I couldn't fire it. Pistols and darts... You have to aim at your target, click "fire", at which point Arno takes out the gun and fires, causing him to slightly jerk and sometimes miss the target. Why isn't it like in the old days, where you aimed with the gun already out?
This is a spoiler again...
At one point, you climb the Eiffel Tower. That was pretty neat. However, you take machine guns to shoot down three planes. What planes, exactly? German ones? If so, why the fuck are they flying raids against the Eiffel Tower? Or more likely British ones? Makes sense: They're out on patrol over Paris, see someone in the open and open fire. That means we're helping the Germans, even if it's only in a memory.
I am very annoyed with AC1234 whatever number we're at.

I'm still playing COD2 and COD4 on PC. I've tried most of the ones since then but they are terrible on PC. Feel free to join me for a game. You will likely lose

War thunder, Payday 2, BF4, just got the Diablo 3 expansion from a sale. Common nominator being that I play those with a few friends.
Thought about getting the new WoW expansion but I don't have the fire I used to have for that, even for casual playing, so that's on hold. Hoping to get the new Civ from Steam holiday sales for some reasonable price.

I've switch to tabletop RPGs and rekindled my love for them. I'm about to start a new adventure path in Pathfinder on Roll20 if anyone is interested.

Why can't I stop playing Destiny? It's the same thing over and over yet...must get more weapons, must get stronger.
