I am a Mars Volta fan which extends to Omar Rodriguez Lopez's solo works, and other weird and experimental stuff: Zech's marquise, if there trees could talk, venetian snares, and also some jazz like Bob James, Christian Scott and some classical music
(I'm to lazy to do an actual song list)
The role of darkness is not to be seen as, or equated with, Ignorance, but with the unknown, and the mysteries of the unseen.

Never got into them, because the first time I saw them (or heard of them, even) they were opening for the Chili Peppers, and I could distinguish only three songs over 45 minutes. I eventually just gave up and walked around the venue until they were done. I was annoyed, and after all that John frigging Fruscianti had the nerve to do one of his solo works songs. But the other three hours made up for that.

Anyway, off the top of my head:

"Innoccent"-Fuel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6Di6qes3ss

"Down"-Fuel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5ZYWfbR390&feature=related (this is the only studio version on YT, but it cuts off about a minute before the end. Its a good song, though, you should torr- I mean, purchase it or find the full version somewhere)

"One of These Days"- Pink Floyd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQvG2SMVl84

"Over the Hills and Far Away"-Led Zeppelin
do you really need a link?

"Hate Me Now"-Tantric
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kdda8bzpXec

"Wet Sand"-Red Hot Chili Peppers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWNDW5KtiKk

"Fade to Black"-Metallica
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEQnzs8wl6E

"Shine on You Crazy Diamond (parts 6-9)"-Pink Floyd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D05-l1xHK_4

"Baby Don't You Do It"-The Who
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjpkYoYKDzE&feature=related

"rearviewmirror"-Pearl Jam
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eY1fmuJBVh4
I chose that one because the video is just...different.

"Have You Ever Seen the Rain"-Credence Clearwater Revival
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS9_ipu9GKw

"Fear of the Dark"-Iron Maiden
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szt60RlgcL4 Live in Rio is the Definitive version of this song.
