Not completely happy with the Twins Paradox, so looking for feedback. It makes sense to me, but I know what I'm trying to say, so I don't know if I've hit the mark with it.

Are you sure it is a T. rex and not another theropod? From my understanding, T. rex was a North American animal, as well as only having two footprints of it being known.

I couldn't swear to it, and I don't claim to be a palaeontologist. That's what the caption from the source said. Since the source was Smithsonian, I took it at face value.

http://www.smithsonianmag.com/travel/wh ... 82/?no-ist

It wasn't something I researched deeply, because the pic was only to illustrate the broader point, which had originally been made by a palaeontologist friend.

It honestly would not surprise me if the museum this site is associated with refers to them as T. rex tracks simply because the T. rex is the most famous dinosaur. If this is going to be published in a book, I would play it safe and just refer to the footprints as being from a theropod and not pinpoint a species. In addition, Smithsonian appears to be more like National Geographic and not Nature, thus I can see a mistake like this not being seen as a real problem to the Editor.

Post Re: While I Was Away...

It will be a book, yes, but it won't appear as it does there. The blog is really just to get my thoughts down. When it comes to the book, my research will be far more robust than that.

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.

I've put this question to my mate theropod, mentioned in the article. He's about as knowledgeable as they come when it comes to this material. I'll let you know what he says.
